April’s Figures and Significance
The April AICPI figures were released in May. Compared to March, there has been a rise in the index. March recorded a value of 133.3 points, while April saw a growth of 0.72 points, reaching 134.02 points. This indicates a substantial increase in DA for employees this time.
Role of AICPI
The All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) data, issued by the Ministry of Labor, determines the extent of increase in employees’ dearness allowance. The AICPI figures are published on the last working day of each month and encompass 88 centers across the country.
