7th Pay Commission: Great news for employees and pensioners! 4% increase in DA, enjoy higher salaries

DA increase Latest News: Exciting news for central government employees! If you are employed by the government, you will be delighted to know that your salary has been increased.

Government employees will now receive a higher salary due to a 4% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) implemented by both the Central and State Governments. This means that starting from this month, you will receive more money in your paycheck. It is important to note that the increased salary will be applicable from January 1, 2023.

Good news for employees: Dearness Allowance increased by 4%

The Karnataka government has recently announced an increase in salaries for its employees. They have raised the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 4 percent, bringing the total DA rate to 35 percent, up from the previous 31 percent.

Several other states have also increased DA

Prior to this, many other states have also raised the Dearness Allowance, resulting in increased salaries for employees and pensioners. The Bihar government, for instance, has increased the pension, with employees now receiving DA at a rate of 42 percent.

Fulfilling promises made in the manifesto

Within a week of the Congress government coming into power in Karnataka, they have delivered on their promises by increasing the Dearness Allowance. The Congress had made various commitments, including providing a monthly assistance of Rs 2000 under the free electricity and Mri Laxmi Yojana, which will be implemented soon.

DA increase in Uttarakhand

In addition to Karnataka, the Uttarakhand government has also raised the Dearness Allowance by 4 percent. Employees of the Uttarakhand government will now receive a DA of 42 percent, up from the previous 38 percent. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has confirmed this hike, stating that it applies to state employees and pensioners.

DA increases twice a year

It’s important to note that the Dearness Allowance for government employees is increased twice a year, based on the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. The DA for central employees was announced in March and implemented from January. The next DA increase for central employees is set to be implemented from July 1. The government may announce this in September, and there is a possibility of a 4 percent increase in DA. If this occurs, the DA will rise from 42 percent to 46 percent.
