Aadhaar Update: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced a convenient feature on its website and mobile app. This new feature allows individuals to easily verify the mobile number and e-mail ID associated with their Aadhaar.
In the past, many people were unaware of which mobile number was linked to their Aadhaar, causing concern. To address this issue, UIDAI has implemented this measure. According to a statement from UIDAI, “People used to worry about receiving Aadhaar OTP on a different mobile number. With this new facility, individuals can easily find out which mobile number or e-mail ID is linked to their Aadhaar.”
To avail of this feature, individuals can visit the official website or use the m-Aadhaar app to verify their mobile number or e-mail ID. Verification ensures that the OTP sent during the process is received on the correct number and not on someone else’s.
Aadhaar Update: No Need to Visit Centers
The recent Aadhaar update brings good news for individuals as they can now make necessary changes without visiting the center. This convenience is made possible through the official website or the m-Aadhaar app under the ’email/mobile number’ verification feature.
This facility ensures that individuals receive notifications even if their mobile number is not linked to Aadhaar. It prompts them to update their mobile number. If a mobile number is already verified, a message will appear on the screen, confirming its verification based on the records.
Even if the mobile number is not connected it will work
In case someone doesn’t recall the mobile number provided during Aadhaar registration, they can use the new facility on the ‘My Aadhaar’ portal or mAadhaar app to view the last three digits of the registered mobile number.
This feature is beneficial even if the mobile number is not connected. It prompts individuals to register their mobile number and provides necessary instructions for verification. If the mobile number is already verified, a message indicating the verification status will be displayed.
If someone does not remember the mobile number
If someone can’t remember their registered mobile number, they can enter the last three digits of the number on the ‘My Aadhaar’ portal or mAadhaar app to access the new facility. However, it’s important to note that visiting the nearest Aadhaar center is still required to link the email and mobile number with Aadhaar.
