Currently, many parts of North India, including Chhattisgarh, are experiencing extreme heat and humidity. Initially, summer vacation was scheduled until June 15, but considering the prevailing heatwave, the government has decided to extend it.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel tweeted about the extension, stating that all schools will remain closed until June 26 due to the scorching heat. He advised everyone to take care of themselves and their loved ones during this hot weather and to stay hydrated by drinking water.

Notably, temperatures in Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, and several other districts of the state have reached around 45 degrees Celsius, surpassing the normal range by 2-3 degrees.
It is important to mention that the governments of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh have also extended the summer vacation in schools. Following the instructions of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, all schools in Chhattisgarh will now remain closed until June 26.
