Exciting news awaits the current and retired beneficiaries of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). The good news is that they will now have access to cashless treatment at various AIIMS locations across the country. This beneficial facility will be offered at AIIMS Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Patna, Jodhpur, Raipur, and Rishikesh.
The signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between AIIMS managements and the Central Government Health Services has paved the way for this cashless treatment. Beneficiaries can now avail cashless treatment for outpatient department (OPD) services, investigations, and indoor treatments at these six AIIMS locations.
The MoU signing ceremony took place in the presence of Rajesh Bhushan, the Union Health Secretary. In addition to these six AIIMS, AIIMS New Delhi, PGIMER Chandigarh, and JIPMER Puducherry will also extend the cashless treatment facility to CGHS beneficiaries.
Easier Treatment for CGHS Beneficiaries
According to Bhushan, six AIIMS hospitals have been providing specialized and super-specialty services for over 10 years. This development brings great relief to retired CGHS pensioners who often face challenges in managing the expenses associated with their treatments. Now, CGHS beneficiaries can avail themselves of advanced treatment facilities at these AIIMS hospitals without any hassle.
Expansion of Facilities in These Hospitals Soon
The Union Health Secretary mentioned that in the near future, AIIMS in New Delhi, the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, and the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research in Puducherry will also be included in this agreement. This means that more hospitals will be added to provide similar benefits to CGHS beneficiaries.
