In light of the upcoming inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament House, the traffic police has declared the New Delhi area as a controlled zone on Sunday.
To accommodate the presence of numerous VIPs and VVIPs attending the ceremony, private vehicles will not be allowed entry into the New Delhi area. The restriction will be in effect from 5:30 in the morning until approximately 4 in the evening.
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory specifically for the inauguration ceremony. They have emphasized that on the 28th, several esteemed dignitaries will be present for the event. To ensure smooth traffic flow, special arrangements have been put in place. As part of these arrangements, the New Delhi district has been designated as a controlled area.
Avoid These Routes
The traffic police have provided information regarding certain routes that will be regulated during the upcoming ceremony. Mother Teresa Crescent Road, Talkatora, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Gol Dak Khana, Ashok Road, Patel Chowk, Windsor Place, Janpath, Akbar Road, and Teen Murti Marg are some of the areas that will be considered regulated. Only individuals with prior permission, civil service aspirants, local residents, and emergency vehicles will be permitted to travel through these areas.
Enhanced Security Measures and Information Updates on Twitter: Due to the significance of the ceremony, strict security measures will be implemented in the vicinity of the new Parliament House. In light of a Mahila Panchayat announced by wrestlers, it is crucial to maintain tight security arrangements. To ensure the convenience of drivers, the Delhi Traffic Police will provide real-time updates and information through their Twitter handle. Although it is advised for drivers to avoid the area, in case of emergencies, alternative routes will be suggested. The traffic police request cooperation from the public in adhering to the instructions provided.
Which vehicles are exempted
Exemptions for Specific Vehicles: Only public transport vehicles, civil service aspirants, local residents, vehicles with pre-stickers, and emergency vehicles will be granted access during the inauguration ceremony. Private vehicles will not be allowed entry. The traffic police kindly request the general public and drivers to cooperate, maintain smooth traffic flow, and patiently follow the given instructions.
