The eagerly awaited Vande Bharat Express journey between Dehradun and Delhi is about to commence. On May 25, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate this semi high-speed train in Dehradun, marking a significant milestone.
In just two days, Uttarakhand will welcome its first Vande Bharat train, scheduled to depart at 11 am. The introduction of Vande Bharat Express on the Delhi-Dehradun route will further reduce travel time, offering a faster and more convenient experience.
The inauguration ceremony will be graced by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav. Currently, there are six trains available for travel between Dehradun and Delhi, and the Vande Bharat train will become the seventh. Travel Time will Decrease
The introduction of Vande Bharat Express is set to revolutionize travel between Delhi and Dehradun, reducing the journey time to a remarkable 4.5 hours. With this high-speed train, passengers can enjoy the fastest and most efficient mode of transportation along this route. Currently, six trains operate between the national and state capitals, including Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi, Uttaranchal Express, Mussoorie Express, Dehradun-Indore, Ujjain Express, and Nanda Devi AC Superfast, which take over 5.5 to 9 hours. The arrival of Vande Bharat Express will significantly save time for travelers on this route.
Travel Timings
Following its inauguration on May 25, Vande Bharat Express will commence its regular operations between Dehradun and Delhi from May 29. According to TOI news, Shashank Sharma, the station superintendent of Dehradun railway station, stated that the train will operate from Dehradun railway station to Delhi’s Anand Vihar station, completing the journey in just 4 hours and 30 minutes.
As per media reports, the train will run six days a week, excluding Wednesdays. It will depart from Dehradun at 7 am, reaching Anand Vihar Terminal railway station in Delhi by 11:30 pm. The return journey will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station at 5:30 pm and arrive in Dehradun at 10:20 pm.
Scheduled Stoppage
Vande Bharat Express will make one stop between Dehradun and Delhi, possibly at Saharanpur. However, the train’s operations and fares are currently being finalized. Railway officials mention that since the Vande Bharat train has power on both ends, there will be no need to change locomotives if it stops at Saharanpur.
Fare and Speed
The fare for the Dehradun-Delhi Vande Bharat Express has yet to be determined. The train has the potential to achieve speeds of up to 180 kilometers per hour, although it usually operates at an average speed of 150 kilometers per hour.
With this remarkable speed, it will become the fastest train between Dehradun and Delhi. For comparison, the Shatabdi Express completes the journey in 6 hours and 10 minutes, while the Jan Shatabdi and Nanda Devi Express take 5 hours and 50 minutes.
