Weather Alert! IMD Issues Warning of Heavy Rainfall in These 24 Districts for the Next 4 to 12 Hours

The sun is shining brightly in Madhya Pradesh, with temperatures already crossing 40 degrees Celsius by 11 am in several districts. However, around 3 o’clock in the afternoon, clouds have gathered, providing some respite from the scorching heat. Despite the dry weather over the past two days, the intensity of the heat has escalated due to hot gusts of wind.

During the afternoon hours, the streets remained quiet as people sought refuge in their homes, relying on coolers, fans, and air conditioners for relief from the sweltering heat. On Sunday, the temperature rose by one degree compared to Friday, while hot winds blew on Saturday. However, it is anticipated that relief will be forthcoming in the next two days.

Western Disturbance Active: Possibility of Rain in These Districts

Typically, the month of May in the city is marked by scorching heatwaves. However, this year has been different, as there haven’t been any heatwave conditions observed so far. Last year, April saw two days of heatwave conditions, followed by four days in May. During May, temperatures were consistently 2 to 3 degrees above normal. However, the current situation is distinct.

According to the Meteorological Department, there is currently a weather pattern extending from East Bihar to Chhattisgarh. The weather remains dry, leading to a temporary rise in temperatures for a day or two. However, from May 23 onwards, a Western Disturbance is expected to become active, bringing in clouds and the possibility of light rain.

Rainfall Anticipated in These Districts

The Meteorological Department has issued rain warnings in several districts due to the activation of two weather systems. Until May 23, rain alerts have been issued for various areas. The districts where rain is predicted include Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Singrauli, Sidhi, Rewa, Satna, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Chhatarpur, and Tikamgarh.

One of the weather systems will remain active from May 22 to May 28, resulting in light rain and cloud cover across many regions. The forecast also indicates the possibility of rain in Nautpa. Additionally, on May 24, another weather disturbance will affect North India and impact the weather in Madhya Pradesh, bringing rain to several areas.
