DMIC-Madhya Pradesh
About 1% of influence area of DMIC passes through Madhya Pradesh covering Neemuch, Mandsaur, Ratlam, Dhar and Jhabua districts.
Based on the strengths of specific regions in the influence area, four development
nodes have been identified in the influence area of DMIC. These include two
investment region and two industrial areas. Preliminary discussions with the State
Government agencies also indicate that adequate land is available for the envisaged
developments. Proposed project components in each of the nodes are discussed
briefly hereafter:
. Node No.21: Neemach-Nayagaon Industrial Area
. Node No.22: Shajapur-Dewas Industrial Area
. Node No.23: Ratlam-Nagda Investment Region
. Node No.24: Pithampura-Dhar-Mhow Investment Region
Node-21: Neemach-Nayagaon Industrial Area
The Proposed Industrial Area at Neemuch-Nayagaon would be located towards east of the alignment of Dedicated Freight Corridor and within the Project Influence Area. Located in the Malwa plateau of Madhya Pradesh (North-Western/ Western Region) with fertile medium & deep soils, this region is part of the major agricultural production base for Potato, Jowar and Wheat crops. It is important to note that this industrial area would be located close to Mandsaur district, renowned for large production of opium compared to rest of the world.
Advantages:
. Important crops in the region include Wheat, Maize, Soya bean, Mustard, Jowar, Gram;
. Rich Limestone Reserves and presence of established Cement Production Units in the vicinity;
. Ideal location for setting up Agri Export Zones (Potato, Spices, Wheat) and Industrial Areas;
. Proposed Food Park at Mandsaur, also sanctioned by Ministry of Food Processing & Industries (MoFPI), Government of India;
. Renowned for Opium Production
. Well served by Four-laned stretch of NH-79 and Broad gauge railway network of Chittorgarh-Ratlam with connectivity to major business centers across India;
. Nearest Airport is located at Indore.
Proposed Components:
. Export-Oriented/ Industry Processing Units: Cement Production, Chemical;
. Integrated Agro/ Food Processing Zone: This region has potential for food processing industries in Potato, Spices and Wheat, opium processing;
. Truck Terminal Area with Warehousing and Cold Storage Facilities;
. Integrated Township, which could be dovetailed to requirements of specific investor group/countries;
. Development of Feeder Road Links connecting identified industrial area with NHDP and Hinterlands;
. Ensuring connectivity to the Ajmer/Kota-Chittorgarh-Ratlam Broad-Gauge Rail Network and linkage with DFC junctions at Ajmer in Rajasthan and with Makarpura/ Vadodara.
Node-22: Shajapur-Dewas Industrial Area
The Proposed Industrial Area at Shajapur-Dewas would be located towards east of the alignment of Dedicated Freight Corridor and in the Malwa plateau of west-central region of Madhya Pradesh. Well served by NH-3 (Agra-Mumbai), other State Highways as SH-18 and SH-86 and with proximity to Indore Airport, this region has excellent connectivity to rest of India. Moreover, mega development plans of the State Government viz. development of Science City over 500 Acres and Integrated Warehousing Hub are proposed to be located in this region.
Advantages:
. Important crops in the region include Soyabean, Wheat, Jowar, Cotton;
. Located along National Highway-3 (Agra-Mumbai), rail linkages and proximity to domestic Airport at Indore, this region has excellent connectivity to rest of India;
. Mega Development Plans of State Government viz. Science City and Integrated Warehousing Hub are proposed to be located in the region;
. As part of the industrial Growth Center, Dewas district caters to wide range of industries with modern technology such as Seed/Oil processing, electrical, engineering, plastic, leather works, handicrafts, chemical and textile;
. River Narmada, the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh, flows through Dewas District
. Rich cultural heritage, prominent pilgrimage and tourist destinations in the vicinity;
Proposed Components:
. Export-Oriented/ Industry Processing Units: Seed/ Oil Processing, Leather, Chemical, Electrical/ Engineering etc;
. Augmentation of existing industrial estates: Expansion of industrial estate or growth center located at Dewas;
. Knowledge City/ Skill Development Center to cater to training in engineering/textile, science and technology along with Science City;
. Integrated Township, which could be dovetailed to requirements of specific investor group/countries;
. Integrated Logistics Hub at Dewas with truck terminal and warehousing facilities;
. Development of Feeder Road Links connecting identified industrial area with NHDP and Hinterlands along with development of expressway between Indore and Dewas/ Shajapur;
. Augmentation Feeder Rail Linkage for enhanced connectivity with Bhopal, Indore and Ujjain
Node-23: Ratlam-Nagda Investment Region
The Proposed Investment Region at Ratlam-Nagda would be located towards east of the alignment of Dedicated Freight Corridor and in the Malwa plateau of westcentral region of Madhya Pradesh. Well served by Ratlam-Chittorgarh broad gauge rail linkage while being the headquarters of Western Railways, NH-79, State Highways 31 and 22 along with proximity to Indore Airport, this region has excellent connectivity to rest of India. Ratlam caters to chemical factories, manufacturing of copper wires, plastic ropes, gold and ornament design industries. Nagda, located in Ujjain district, is a major industrial town for textile production being also the base for Grasim Factory, renowned brand in textile/ garment industry, printed dress material and handicrafts. Ujjain is the historic city and prominent pilgrimage of ancient India. Important crops in Ratlam are Soyabean, Wheat, Jowar, Gram and Maize also well known for Strawberry and Grapes. Based on the region's potential, Government of Madhya Pradesh has formulated mega scale investment plans for the region viz. setting up knitwear manufacturing unit, fabric processing and readymade garments units at Ujjain.

. Well served by the Ratlam-Chittaurgah Broadgauge rail linkage of Western Railways; and NH-79 along with other State Highways (SH-31,22) offering better connectivity to rest of the state and India;
. Proximity to Indore Airport;
. Established industrial base in the manufacturing of Chemicals, Textiles/ Garment, Copper Wire and Plastic Ropes; ( Nagda, a major industrial town having manufacturing unit of Viscose fibre and thermal power plant, Ratlam, with Chemical Factories and Manufacturing units of Copper Wire and Plastic Ropes);
. Mega Development Plans of State Government viz. development of knitwear manufacturing unit, Fabric processing and Readymade Garment Units at Ujjain district;
. Rich cultural heritage and prominent religious center, Ujjain, in the vicinity attracting tourists from all over India and the World;
Proposed Components:
. Export-Oriented/ Industry Processing Units: Textile, Chemical, Copper Wire, Seed Processing/ Oil etc;
. Augmentation of existing industrial estates: Expansion of one or two industrial estates located at Ratlam/ Nagda;
. Integrated Township, which could be dovetailed to requirements of specific investor group/countries;
. Inland Container Depot with Truck Terminal and Warehousing Facilities at Ratlam;
. Development of Feeder Road Links connecting identified investment region with NHDP and Hinterlands;
. Augmentation of Feeder Rail Linkages to ensure enhanced connectivity between Ratlam-Chittorgarh-Ajmer, Ratlam-Indore and Ratlam-Jhabua-Godhra-Vadodara.
Node-24: Pithampura-Dhar-Mhow Investment Region
The Proposed Investment Region at Pithampura-Dhar-Mhow would be located towards east of the alignment of Dedicated Freight Corridor and in the Malwa plateau of west-central region of Madhya Pradesh. Well served by NH-3 (Agra-Mumbai), other State Highways, Rail linkages and with Domestic Airport at Indore, this region has excellent connectivity to rest of India. This region would be located close to Indore, the commercial capital of the State. Based on the region's potential, Government of Madhya Pradesh has formulated mega scale investment plans for the region viz. setting up Apparel Park, Gem & Jewelry Park, Software Technology Park, Herbal Park, Pharmaceutical Cluster, Textile, Food Processing and Autocomponent clusters. This region is part of the Audhyogic Kendra Vikas Nigam (AKVN), Indore, a specialized State Govt. Corporation dedicated to the development of Industrial Areas and Infrastructure facilities in the western part of the state. The City Development Plan for Indore has envisaged an investment of INR 2746 Crore, over a seven year period, for the development and upgradation of urban infrastructure (transport, water supply, environment management etc) in the urban agglomeration of area of Indore.

. Located close to Indore, the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh
. Proximity to Steel Plants such as Bhilai and Nagpur and well connected to major market centers located across India;
. Located along National Highway-3 (Agra-Mumbai) and proximity to domestic Airport at Indore, this region has excellent connectivity to rest of India;
. Indore has Indian Institute of Management (IIM), the prestigious management institution and has the Center for Advanced Technologies, renowned for Laser technologies in the field of laser;
. This region caters to one of the first Greenfield Special Economic Zone of India at Indore, which is functional since 2000;
. Pithampur, renowned as Detroit of India, caters to a heavy concentration of vehicle industries (Hindustan Motors, Kinetic Honda, Eicher Motors, Bajaj Tempo) and other industries as Kores India, Crompton Greaves, Bridge Stone Tyres, Pratap Steel;
. Mega Development Plans of State Government viz. development of Auto Cluster capable of producing 1 Mn components along with Automobile Assembly Plant, Pharma Cluster, Apparel Park, Gems & Jewellery Park, Software Technology Park, Herbal Park and Bio-technology Park;
. Rich cultural heritage and prominent tourist destinations in and around the region such as Indore, Mandav, Dhar etc with vast potential attracting domestic and international tourists.

. Export-Oriented/ Industry Processing Units/ SEZs: Electrical/ Engineering, Auto component, Pharma, Apparel, Gems & Jewelry, Herbal etc;
. Augmentation of existing industrial estates: Expansion of one or two industrial estates located at Indore/ Pithampur;
. Integrated Agro/ Food Processing Zone for processing of agricultural produce in the region and integrating with Indore Airport for export purposes etc;
. Knowledge City/ Skill Development Center to cater to training in engineering/textile/apparel, automobile/auto component, software technologies, agro-processing/ biotechnology;
. IT/ITES and Biotech Hub;
. Integrated Township, which could be dovetailed to requirements of specific investor group/countries;
. Integrated Logistics Hub with Container Depot, truck terminal & warehousing;
. Development of Feeder Road Links connecting identified investment region with NHDP and Hinterlands;
. Development of Feeder Rail Linkage: Expediting new construction of Dahod- Sardapur-Dhar-Indore BG Link (196km) and Chhota Udepur-Pratapnagar (100km) guage conversion; proposed gauge conversion for Indore-Khandwa Link (138.76km) from MG to BG for connectivity with Mumbai Port; proposed new construction of Dhar-Chhota Udepur BG Link (100km) for connectivity with South Gujarat (Hazira, Dahej and Maroli Ports) and other missing links;
. Augmentation of Indore Airport as Modern International Airport.
