DMIC Project Status & Way Forward

Summary- Project Status
. On 16th August, 20007, the Union Cabinet Chaired by Hon'ble Prime Minister of India has given in-principle approval to the project outline.
. Further, Government of India constituted Apex Authority/ DMIC Steering Authority with Union Finance Minister as Chairman, concerned cabinet ministers and six chief ministers of DMIC states as Members.
. Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (DMICDC), the project development agency for DMIC, successfully incorporated on 7th January, 2008 with following initial equity structure:
- GOI: 49%
- Financial Institutions: 51%
The First Directors of DMICDC constitutes three directors on behalf of Government of India and four directors on behalf of financial institutions.
. First Board Meeting of DMIC held on 28th January, 2008 under the chairmanship of Shri Ajay Shankar, Secretary, DIPP, MoCI.
. M/s IL&FS; Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (IIDC) appointed as Project Management Consultant (PMC) to DMICDC.
. Expression of Interest (EOI) Notice, to appoint Master Planning Consultants for DMIC Region, published on 9th February,2008 in worldwide editions of 'The Economist' for preparation of a perspective plan for overall DMIC Region and development plans for various investment nodes in the DMIC Region.
. 'Request For Proposal' document issued to pre-qualified applicants on 31st March, 2008 for submitting detailed techno-commercial proposals for DMIC assignments.
. Pre-Bid Meeting with short listed Consultants, held on 16th April,2008
. Subsequently it was decided to revise the Category 1 & Category 2 RFP incorporating comments received from pre-bid meeting and further recommendations were taken from Central/State agencies.
. It was decided to revise the RFP document for Category - 1 & Category -2.
. The revised RFP for Category 1 was issued in July 2008 to the 16 shortlisted consultants and six bids were received on 14th August 2008. The evaluation of the same has been completed and the award of work to the consultants is expected to be done by the end of September 2008.
. Similarly it has been decided that Category 2 node wise study would be undertaken separately for each state incorporating the recommendation of State level nodal agency on preparation of development plan and feasibility study for ideneitifed early bird projects.
. RFP for Gujarat node and Madhya Pradesh node under Category 2 project was issued on 14th August 2008 and 19th September 2008 respectively.
. IIDC, the PMC had received 10 bids for Gujarat node on 16th of September 2008 for which evaluation has been completed and work is expected to be awarded by October 2008.
. Bids for Madhya Pradesh node are expected to be received by 24th October 2008 and the work is expected to be awarded by November 2008
. The bids for remaing four nodes i.e. Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rahasthan and Maharashtra shall be issued before November 2008 and these projects shall be awarded by December 2008
